Description
Discover the wonders of southern Morocco with this 5-day, 4-night tour departing from Marrakech. Between the Atlas Mountains, palm groves, nomadic villages, and spectacular dunes, this adventure combines culture, diverse landscapes, and a Saharan immersion with nights in riads, guesthouses, and desert bivouacs.
Circuit route
Day 1: Marrakech – Tazenakht – Foum Zguid
Depart Marrakech via the Tizi n'Tichka Pass in the High Atlas Mountains, surrounded by red mountain landscapes. Stop in Tazenakht, renowned for its handmade carpets. After a lunch of local flavors, drive to the Zguid palm grove and then arrive in Foum Zguid, gateway to the Sahara. Check into a peaceful riad, enjoy a tagine dinner, and spend the night there.
Day 2: Foum Zguid – Zaouiat Sidi Abdenabi
Morning tour of Foum Zguid: ancient kasbah and palm grove. Lunch in the city center, then departure by 4x4 to Iriki National Park, a preserved area with magnificent panoramas. Stop in an oasis facing the table mountains nicknamed the "Moroccan Colorado" and discovery of a fossil site. Arrival at a guesthouse in the heart of the Saharan plains, welcome with tea and traditional dinner. Night in complete tranquility.
Day 3: Zaouiat Sidi Abdenabi – Erg Chegaga
In the morning, discover the nomadic village of Zaouiat Sidi Abdenabi: agriculture in the oasis and historical remains. Return for lunch, then departure by 4x4 towards the majestic dunes of Erg Chegaga (300 m high). Settling into the bivouac, camel ride at sunset, dinner enlivened by music around the fire. Night in comfortable tents in the heart of the Sahara.
Day 4: Erg Chegaga – Zagora
Breakfast in the open air, then departure by 4x4 to M'Hamid, at the foot of the Drâa Valley and its magnificent palm groves. Continue to Zagora for the night.
Day 5: Zagora – Marrakech
Return to Marrakech through desert landscapes, traditional villages and panoramic stops to enjoy the views and photograph the last moments of the journey.
